What is MentionChecker?

MentionChecker checks ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Gemini, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot. You choose which of the six to include in each check. A paid check asks ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Gemini and Perplexity unless you change the pick, and the free check asks ChatGPT and Gemini.

What does a check tell you?

A check tells you four things about the questions it asked: how often your brand was mentioned, which of the AI engines mentioned it, who was mentioned instead of you and how they rank, and which websites the answers cited. Every number on the report opens to the answer it came from.

The questions are the kind people type: “best puzzle game with no ads”, “which dentists in Leeds are taking new patients”, “charities that plant trees in Scotland”. MentionChecker reads your website to write them, so a clinic gets patient questions, a game gets player questions and a charity gets donor questions. You can edit any question, add your own, or paste a list. Running the check again later shows what changed since the previous one.

MentionChecker pricing: what does a check cost?

A check of 25 questions on the four AI engines a check asks by default costs $17, paid as 100 prepaid credits with no subscription. One question on one AI engine, asked once, is one credit. With Google AI Mode and Copilot added the same check is 150 credits. A check that repeats spends the same again each time it runs.

Any amount can be bought and is quoted as the cheapest combination of packs that covers it. Above 100,000 credits the price comes from a person, through the contact form. Every pack is also listed on the pricing page. Prices read from the price list on 18 September 2026.

Is MentionChecker a dashboard, a content tool or an SEO suite?

No. MentionChecker is not a monitoring dashboard, not a content writer and not an SEO suite. It reads the answers the AI engines give to anyone who asks, and reports them.

• Not a subscription dashboard. There is no monthly plan and no tier to pick.
• Not an SEO rank tracker. It reads AI answers, not search result pages.
• Not a chatbot. It asks the AI engines on your behalf and keeps what they said.
• Not installed anywhere. No script is added to your website and nothing is connected to your accounts.

The first check is free. Every new account gets 10 credits with no card, which is 5 questions on ChatGPT and Gemini, asked once. After that MentionChecker is paid with prepaid credits, starting at 50 credits for $9. The free credits last 12 months like any other credits, and there is no trial that ends.

Does MentionChecker need a subscription?

No. MentionChecker has no subscription and no monthly plan. You buy a pack of credits once, spend them when you run a check, and nothing renews. A check can be set to repeat daily, weekly or monthly from the same balance, and it pauses when the balance is empty. No card is ever charged on a schedule.

How do I check if ChatGPT mentions my business?

Enter your website at mentionchecker.com, approve or edit the questions MentionChecker proposes, and run a check with ChatGPT selected. The report shows every answer ChatGPT gave to those questions, with your brand marked wherever it appears and the other brands ChatGPT mentioned instead. The first check is free and needs no card.

Does MentionChecker show which competitors AI engines recommend instead of me?

Yes. MentionChecker counts and ranks every brand mentioned in the answers, so the report shows who is ahead of you and on which questions. The list comes from the answers themselves. You do not have to type in a list of competitors, and you can choose which names to follow and take any name out of the numbers.

Can an agency use MentionChecker for several clients?

Yes. An agency holds one brand per client in one MentionChecker account, and every brand is paid for from one balance. There is no fee per seat and no fee per brand. A check on a prospect before a pitch costs the same as any other check and stays in the account. Reports can be shared by link with a client without a login.

Does MentionChecker work outside the United States?

Yes. The same question gets a different answer in different countries, so MentionChecker lets you choose the country the questions are asked from, and the country is preselected from your web address. A brand can be checked from more than one country, and each country gets its own report.

Can I share or export a MentionChecker report?

Yes. Every MentionChecker report has a link you can send to anyone, and the person you send it to needs no login. A report can also be downloaded as a PDF, as Markdown or as JSON, and the raw answers can be exported by a signed-in account. A shared report is not listed by search engines.

Who makes MentionChecker?

MentionChecker is made by MentionLift Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, and it is funded by what customers pay for it.
