AI visibility agency tool for GEO and AEO agencies
By Maya Ellison, content lead · Updated 21 September 2026
In short
An AI visibility agency runs one MentionChecker check per client brand, every brand on one balance, with no fee per seat or per brand. A check on a prospect costs the same as any other and stays in the account. Each report goes to the client by link with no login, or as a PDF. Your first check is free.
How does an AI visibility agency check a client brand?
With one MentionChecker check per client brand: enter the client's website, pick the AI engines and the country their people are in, and read the report. Your first check is free. An AI visibility agency is a marketing or SEO agency that does the work of getting a brand mentioned in the answers the AI engines give. A GEO agency, for generative engine optimization, and an AEO agency, for answer engine optimization, are two names for the same agency. MentionChecker is a pay-as-you-go AI visibility checker. It asks ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Gemini, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot the questions people ask about what you do, and tells you whether your brand is mentioned in the answers.
Each brand in the account is its own: its own questions, about a dozen drafted from the client's website or a list you already hold, pasted one question per line or uploaded as a CSV, its own AI engines and country, and its own report, History and repeat. The report opens on three numbers, how often the answers mentioned the client, the client's share of voice among every name the answers mentioned, and their average rank when the answer is a list, then shows every answer word for word with the client's name marked, ranks every other name the answers mentioned, and lists the websites the answers were built from, so the pages to get onto sit on the same screen as the numbers the client will be measured against. A mention is an answer with the client's name in it. A citation is a page an AI engine lists under its answer as its source, and the report keeps every citation under the answer it came with.
AI visibility tool for agencies: every client brand on one balance
As many brands as the agency holds. One balance pays for every brand in the account, and there is no fee per brand, per client or per member. A new client adds one brand and the cost of that brand's checks.

Every brand keeps its own History and its own repeat, so one client on a monthly repeat and another checked once before a quarterly review spend from the same balance, and the brands screen shows the whole account at once: each brand, what a check on it costs, when it was last checked, and whether it runs on a repeat. When a client leaves, remove the brand. Nothing is taken from the balance.

The people you invite spend from the balance by role, and a role applies to every brand in the account:
| Role | What they can do |
|---|---|
| Owner | Everything, including closing the account or handing it to someone else. Exactly one person. |
| Admin | Everything except buying credits or closing the account, including inviting and removing people. |
| Editor | Can add brands, edit questions and run checks. Running a check spends credits. |
| Viewer | Can read reports and history. Spends nothing and changes nothing. |
How does an AEO agency pitch a prospect?
With a check on the prospect's brand, at the same price as a check on a client: one credit per question per AI engine, whether the brand is a client, a prospect or a pitch you are still writing. Nothing about a prospect costs more, and the check does not expire: the brand, the report and every answer stay in the account, and when the prospect signs, the pitch check is the first point on their History, so the check after the first month's work is read against it.
What an AEO agency proposes is on the report: who the answers mention instead of the prospect, on which questions, which websites those answers were built from, and how often the answers mention the prospect today. A prospect who says no has cost the credits that one check spent, and the brand can be removed.
What does an AI visibility check cost an agency?
One question on one AI engine, asked once, is one credit, whichever brand it is for, and the country, the brands and the people add nothing. Ten clients on the check in the table is the $45 pack, fifty the $75 pack, and a monthly repeat on the same ten clients spends 1,000 credits a month from the balance. Prices as of 21 September 2026, read from mentionchecker.com/pricing.
| What | Credits |
|---|---|
| 25 questions on the four default AI engines, for one client, for example | 100 |
| The same check for ten clients, once | 1,000 |
| The same check for fifty clients, once | 5,000 |
| Your first check, free, no card: 5 questions on ChatGPT and Gemini | 10 |
Credits bought in a pack last 12 months and the free credits do not expire. Nothing renews and no card is charged on a schedule, the way a pay as you go AI visibility tracker is paid. Any amount can be bought and is quoted as the cheapest combination of packs that covers it, and above 100,000 credits the price comes from a person, through the contact form. Every pack is on the pricing page.
AI visibility agency tool vs a monthly agency plan
A monthly plan is paid for the month and the tier whether the clients' checks ran or not, and a balance is spent only when a check runs. A client on a weekly repeat, a client on a monthly repeat and a client checked once before a review each spend what their own checks cost, from the same balance.
| What differs | A monthly agency plan | A MentionChecker balance |
|---|---|---|
| What you pay for | The month and the tier, used or not | Each check, as it runs |
| A month with no checks | The month | Nothing |
| The next client | What the tier allows, or the next tier | Another brand on the same balance, no fee |
| A prospect before a pitch | What the tier allows | One check at the same price, kept in the account |
| The report to the client | A login, or a PDF | A link with no login, and a PDF |
| Who can spend it | Depends on the plan | By role: a viewer spends nothing, only the owner buys |
Choose a monthly plan if you want a daily dashboard that someone on your team opens every day. Choose a MentionChecker balance if each client is checked when that client needs it, weekly, monthly or before a pitch, and you would rather not pay for the days in between. The right column is paid one check at a time, from $9 on the pricing page, read on 21 September 2026, and your first check is free.
How do you choose a GEO agency or an AEO agency?
By the measurement it shows you. A GEO agency or an AEO agency does the work of getting your brand into the AI engines' answers, and a MentionChecker check is how that work is measured: a report before the work starts, with how often the answers mention you, who they mention instead and which websites they were built from, and the same check after it, with what moved on History. An agency that measures can show you both, and the what is AI visibility page says what each term means.
Before the pitch, run your own first check. It is free, it needs no card, and the pitch is then read against a number you hold yourself, on the questions people ask about what you do. The guide to checking your ChatGPT visibility covers a first check on one AI engine.
What do agencies ask about AI visibility checks?
What is an AI visibility agency?
An AI visibility agency is a marketing or SEO agency that does the work of getting a brand mentioned in the answers ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Gemini, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot give, and measures it. The measurement is a check: a MentionChecker report before the work, with the three numbers, every answer word for word and the websites the answers cited, and the same check after it, with what moved. One account holds every client brand on one balance.
What does a GEO agency do?
A GEO agency does generative engine optimization: it gets a brand into the answers the AI engines generate. The work is on pages: the ones written to answer the questions people ask about what the brand does, and mentions on the websites the answers already cite, which a MentionChecker report lists ranked by how many answers cited each. The same check run after the work shows which answers started mentioning the brand.
What is the difference between a GEO agency and an SEO agency?
An SEO agency is measured in rankings and clicks on a page of results, and a GEO agency in answers: whether the brand is mentioned in what an AI engine says, and in what place when the answer is a list. Many agencies do both. A keyword rank tracker measures the first, and a MentionChecker check the second, one report per client brand, with every answer kept word for word so the client can read it.
Is an AEO agency the same as a GEO agency?
Yes, in the work: answer engine optimization and generative engine optimization are two names for getting a brand into the answers the AI engines give, one named for the answer and one for the engine that generates it. An AEO agency and a GEO agency are measured the same way, by a check before the work and the same check after it, and a MentionChecker report counts the answers that mention the brand, one client brand at a time.
How much does an AI visibility agency cost?
The agency sets its own fee, by retainer or by project. Hamster Garage's 2026 guide to AI visibility agencies puts the entry tier at $5,000 a month and the enterprise tier at $50,000 to $150,000 and more, read on 21 September 2026. The measurement behind any of them is one credit per question per AI engine: 25 questions on the four default AI engines is 100 credits per client, and the smallest pack is 50 credits for $9 on the pricing page. Your first check is free.
Do you need an AI visibility agency or an AI visibility tool?
Both do different things. An AI visibility agency does the work of getting a brand into the AI engines' answers, and an AI visibility tool measures whether it is there. A MentionChecker check is the measurement: a business runs its first check free before it hires anyone, and an agency runs one per client, so the business and the agency read the same report before the work and after it.
What should you ask a GEO agency before hiring one?
Which AI engines it checks and from which country, whether it shows you a report before the work and the same check after it, whether you get the report itself by link or as a PDF rather than a summary, and what the measurement costs apart from its fee. A MentionChecker check answers all four: the six AI engines, the country the client's people are in, a report before the work and one after it on History, shared by link, at one credit per question per AI engine.
How long before a GEO agency shows results?
There is no date to promise, and a MentionChecker check is how the client sees it. The pitch check is the first point on the client's History, the same check after the first month's work is read against it, and a monthly repeat adds a point every month, so History shows which answers started mentioning the brand and which stopped, under the date of the check that found it.
Is there a fee per seat or per brand on an AI visibility tool?
No. One MentionChecker balance covers every brand in the account and every person invited to it, and a check costs the same whichever brand it is for and whoever runs it. The only thing that spends credits is a check: one question on one AI engine, asked once, is one credit. Adding a brand, adding a person or checking from another country adds nothing.
Can an agency team share one AI visibility account?
Yes. Invite people to the account by email with a role: a viewer reads reports and History and spends nothing, an editor adds brands, edits questions and runs checks, an admin also invites and removes people, and only the owner buys credits or closes the account. Every role applies to every brand in the account, so one account manager can run the checks for all the clients they hold and a director can read every report.
Do AI visibility reports expire?
No. The report and every answer in it stay in the account for as long as the brand does, and the brand stays until you remove it. Credits bought in a pack last 12 months, and the free credits do not expire. So a check run for a pitch is still there when the prospect signs three months later, as the first point on their History, and the next check is read against it.
Can an agency white-label AI visibility reports?
No. The report carries MentionChecker's mark, on the shared page and on the PDF's letterhead, beside the client's own name. What the client reads is the report as it is: the three numbers, every answer word for word with their name marked, who was mentioned instead and the websites the answers cited, with the check's date on it.
Can a client see an agency's other brands in a shared AI visibility report?
Not from a link. A shared link opens one report of one brand and nothing else, and the brands list, the balance and the other reports are seen only by the people invited to the account. So each client gets their own link to their own report, and an agency with twenty clients sends twenty links from one account. A PDF is one report as well.
Can an agency run every client's check on a schedule?
Yes, one repeat per brand. Press Repeat on a client's report and the same check runs again daily, weekly or monthly, paid from the balance one check at a time as it runs, and each report joins that brand's History with what changed since the one before. If the balance is short when a check is due, that check does not run, the repeat pauses, the account owner gets one email, and it resumes on its own once credits are bought. The AI visibility tracking page covers the repeat.
Which AI engines can an agency check for a client?
The six a MentionChecker check can ask: ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Gemini, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot. A check asks ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Gemini and Perplexity by default, and the pick is made per brand, so a client whose people ask Copilot is checked on Copilot. The report counts the answers together and shows them by AI engine, and History keeps one line per AI engine.
Does a client in another country get a different answer?
Yes. On 18 September 2026 ChatGPT listed eight cosy puzzle games from the United States and nine from the United Kingdom, and not one name was in both. A brand is checked from the country its people are in, preselected from its web address, and a client with people in two countries is checked from both, with one report and one History per country, so an agency in London checks a client in Texas from the United States.
Can I import a client's questions from another tool?
Yes. Paste the client's questions one per line, or upload a CSV, in the check wizard or in the brand's settings, and the questions already on the brand are not added twice. There is no cap on the count, and each question is one credit per AI engine when the check runs. The questions a MentionChecker check drafts from the client's website can sit beside them, and any question can be edited or taken off before the check.
Can a client see what an AI visibility report cost?
No. Neither the shared link nor the PDF shows the account's balance, the credits the check spent or the price of a pack. The client sees the report: the three numbers, every answer, the standings and the sources list, with the check's date and the AI engines it asked. The agency's own price to the client is not on the report either.
The About page says what MentionChecker is, and the page for AI assistants lists what it is and is not.
